D-Joust 2008 - London Round 1 Review - added 18/08/08
The D-Joust returned to it's roots last Thursday 14th August with the first
London Round @ Plan B, Brixton.
The basement room with it's huge Funktion 1 sounds system made for a cosy but kicking atmosphere.
Competition DJs strutted their stuff on a range of equipment with the D-Jousts first ever laptop
entries as well as our first DJ duos.
A skillful display with lots of three deck trickery earned veteran DJ
Chris Lloyd a place in the
semi finals with a unanimous vote from the judges.
A live uncut download is now available in the
downloads section, you can
vote for your favorite in the
voting section.
The next London heat is on Thursday 28th August, line-up will be released in the next couple of days
in this section of the site.
Respects to both Matt Riley (Hospital Records) for warming things up for us, and Jnr J for smashing it
up after the action.
D-Joust 2008 - Midlands Round 1 Review - updated 18/08/08
The first ever D-Joust in the Midlands took place last Saturday at the infamous Custard Factory
and although the bad weather kept a few people at home, those who made it down were treated to a
great display of DJ talent and a truly fun day out.
The winner on the day was
Tom EQ, last year's overall runner who scratched and
mixed his way into the European Semi Finals held later this year.
There was only .5 of a point in it (yes .5!) proving the Midlands clearly have a lot to offer
so watch this space.
A live uncut download is now available in the
downloads section. The public has
now spoken and we're pleased to announce that
MOGS will be joining Tom EQ in the semi finals, congratulations
to you both.
Big ups to all the great people we met 'oop North' ;-). Special shout out to the big man and badboy
junglist DJ Doc Vin for having us back to his den.
The next Midlands heat is on Saturday 6th September.
